Children Of The Promise

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you.(Isaiah 51:2)
Devotional
We are sons and daughters of the promise, and that promise is the everlasting covenant, which was given to Abraham and Sarah. It is the promise of salvation by grace through faith in Christ. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. God desires us to be sons of Abraham and daughters of Sarah. We are to look to them as examples of the faithful. Abraham obeyed God and Sarah honored Abraham. When God said go, they went. When He said give, they gave. They simply believed God, and because they believed Him they trusted and obeyed Him. Here we not only have an example of faith, but the very meaning of it. Faith is the combination of believing, trusting and obeying. If any part of the equation is missing, our faith is lacking. Therefore, let us look to Abraham, our father, and Sarah, who bore us.Daily Reading
