Without Excuse

Scripture
Thus says the Lord… “Because they have stiffened their necks that they might not hear My words.”
(Jeremiah 19:15)
Devotional
The apostle Paul said to Titus, “The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.” Therefore, every man and woman is without excuse. It is not that we do not believe in God, it is that we will not believe Him. It will never be a matter of not understanding what we must do to be saved; it will only be a matter of refusing to accept Christ as Savior. Just as a rebellious child stiffens his neck and arches his back so does the man or woman who rejects the Word of the Lord. No one will ever stand before God in the final judgment and be able to honestly say, “I did not understand.” They will have to proclaim, “I refused to believe.” Let us, therefore, stop our excuses and accept the Word of the Lord. Let us hear with an ear that leans toward obedience, submitting ourselves to the very inclinations of God.
