Title

Christ Is The Source

Scripture
Because you have trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be taken… into captivity.
(Jeremiah 48:7)
Devotional
It is both good and wise to save and build. Reserves and resources are a blessing of the Lord. Nevertheless, these are not to be the source of our security. We serve a jealous God. He is jealous for His creation because of His great love for us. Therefore, if we put our trust in anything other than Him, He will turn us over to that which we trust. How foolish of us to trust anything more than the one who created us. Whenever the work of life or the treasures of life become our life, we will be taken captive by those things. Work and treasures are good, but they are not to become the source of our happiness or security. The source of our happiness and security must be found in Christ. From the poorest to the wealthiest, Christ is the one in whom we are to trust.
