Title

Whistle While You Work?

Scripture
By transgression an evil man is snared, but the righteous sings and rejoices.
(Proverbs 29:6)
Devotional
Have you been doing any singing or rejoicing lately? If not, are you finding yourself regularly being ensnared by the negative things of life? You might want to take a good long look at this revealing proverb. Evil living is not always easy to observe. Evilness does not always appear as sinister, even though it is. Anything contrary to the laws, precepts and ways of God are evil, no matter how slightly off center they may be. These transgressions will not only ensnare us, but they will keep us from experiencing the joy that God intends for us to have. There will be no singing or rejoicing, only the snares of gloom, doom and despair. Nothing will put a more joyous song in our hearts than living a life that is pleasing to the Lord. Living a life of righteousness which is simply doing things right. Do you whistle while you work and have a song in your heart? If not, why not?
