Title

Anybody Can Scoff

Scripture
Scoffers set a city aflame, but wise men turn away wrath.
(Proverbs 29:8)
Devotional
Anybody can complain and mock, but it takes the wise to heal and bring peace. Scoffers start fires of contention, the wise cool the hot embers of emotions. Scoffers are faultfinders; the wise seek solutions. The list is endless. The more important question is which are you? Think about your attitudes toward others. Take some time and ask yourself some honest questions. Are you quick to contend, argue or find fault? Do you get upset when others disagree with you? Do you take everything personal? Are you more grumpy than happy? If you are not sure, dare ask somebody who loves you enough to tell you the truth. But beware; you may get angry if you happen to be a scoffer. If you are able to turn away from wrath, you are either wise or on your way to wisdom. Wisdom takes patients, diligence and work. Anyone can scoff and find fault. It is always much easier to complain than to seek turn away wrath.
