The church at Smyrna suffered tribulation, like many churches in our day are suffering. Yet, in the midst of their suffering they, like the church of Revelation, continue to do the work of ministry. In their poverty, God says they are rich. I have been to churches with their dirt floors, no electricity, without seats, windows or water.
