Revealed Mysteries

Scripture
Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, "Do you not know what these are?" And I said, "No, my lord."
(Zechariah 4:5)
Devotional
The simplicity of the gospel is surrounded by mysteries. There are many things in the Bible that we may not understand. Zechariah for example did not know the meaning of his vision. One thing for sure, we can trust that God will reveal the mysteries of His Word when those mysteries need to be revealed. There are many things I did not understand as a young believer, but as I matured in Christ, understanding came. Whether in a dream or vision or in the Word itself, we may not always understand the meaning, but we can be assured that the Lord will not have us guess. He will reveal His will to His people. Jesus said to His disciples, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God."[28] Of the twenty-seven times the word "mystery: is used in the New Testament, each of those times the mystery was revealed to God's people.
