Title

Get In The Water

Scripture
When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized…
(Luke 3:21)
Devotional
Let me begin with a very simple question. Have you been baptized since you believed? Is there a cognitive time in your life that you know that you made a decision for Christ, and that since that time you have been baptized? If not, why not? As the Ethiopian eunuch said to Philip in Acts, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”[1] Baptism is the believer’s first step in obedience to faith in Christ. It is a visible form of God’s invisible grace—a sacrament. It portrays the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, as well as the death of our sin nature, the burial of the old man, and the resurrection of eternal life with Christ. Baptism is a beautiful picture. You are virtually placed into death, figuratively cleansed, and powerfully testify to the world of your new life in Christ.
