Title

Strength Under Control

Scripture
Speak evil of no one,
(Titus 3:2)
Devotional
Here we have the fruit of Biblical meekness. Meekness is not weakness. It is strength under control. Allow me to give an example that revealed meekness to me. My brother has a Ferrari sport's car; occasionally he lets me barrow it. It is by far the fastest and best handling vehicle I have ever driven (It's a guy thing). When I'm driving it on our Southern California freeways, naturally going the speed limit, everyone that passes me knows that I am letting them pass me. Driving a Ferrari the speed limit is strength under control; it is my example of meekness. Meekness is chosen. It is not driven by fear, but by disciplined strength. It is a choice we make. Granted, for some it is a hard choice, but nevertheless it is a choice that we are equipped to make. Meekness builds confidence and confidence produces meekness. And Christ is the creator of both.
