Devotional
The direction is clear; we are not to support anyone who is a murderer. One would wonder why the Bible gives such what appears to be common sense guidance. The answer lies in our "No one's to blame" society. Everything is the fault of anything and everyone except the perpetrator of the crime. The fault is now aimed at heredity, environment, chemical imbalances or societies enticements. So we tolerantly react with more compassion for the criminal than the victims. Our prisons are not filled with victims they are filed with criminals. If our homes were governed with love, compassion and godly discipline our schools would not have to attempt to take the place of parents. And our prisons would not have to be so crowded. Let us therefore help our families, our churches and our schools do the work of prevention. As the adage goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."Daily Reading
