Title

Keep His Word, Treasure His Commandments

Scripture
My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you… that they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words.
(Proverbs 7:1&5)
Devotional
The psalmist has likewise said, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."[2] Unless we know and keep the Word of the Lord, we will eventually fall victim to all sorts of immorality and various pits of seduction: from sexual promiscuity to financial, physical and eventually spiritual ruin. How do we treasure and keep these commands? We do so by keeping the Word of God before us and by fellowshipping with God's people on a regular basis. Read your Bible. Go to Church. Get involved by giving of your time and resources. Avoid those areas of life that may cause you to stumble. Get and stay accountable. Pray for the strength to stay faithful to what you know is the good you are to do. And run from the immoral person, from the seducers who flatter with their words. Keep God's Word and treasure His commandments.
