Title

The Mouth of Wisdom

Scripture
All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; nothing crooked or perverse is in them.
(Proverbs 8:8)
Devotional
The wisdom of the world is made foolish by the wisdom of God.[1] For it is wisdom based on the absence of God. It is at best temporal and more than often proves itself to be crooked and perverse. The wisdom of God on the other hand is based on the truth of His Word. It is eternal and proves itself faithful. No matter how inviting the wisdom of the world may sound, it cannot prevail against the wisdom of God. The wisdom of the world like sin is complex and changing. The Wisdom of God is straightforward and does not change. When worldly wisdom speaks it is confusing and deceptive. It brings guilt and intimidation. Godly wisdom on the other hand is clear and candid. When it speaks it brings unity to the children of God and conviction to the world. Which do you hear? Which do you speak?
