Pray For Your Prayers

Scripture
Regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today:
(1 Kings 8:28)
Devotional
We are to pray for our prayers. Romans 8:26 tells us, "For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought."[1] The disciples of Jesus asked, "Lord, teach us to pray."[2] These guys walked with Jesus every day and they needed to learn how to pray. How much more do we need to ask the same question and make the same prayer, "Lord, teach us to pray?" Here in our text, the writer also prays for his prayers to be heard. How often have we prayed and felt that our prayers were shallow or hollow? How often have we doubted the sincerity of our prayers? We may need to pray saying, "Lord I do not know how to pray as I should, but please hear my heart and know my mind. For I am weak and need to learn to communicate with You in a greater and deeper manner. Lord, regard the prayer of Your servant."
