Title

Reproached And Criticized

Scripture
Listen to me, you who are righteous… Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.
(Isaiah 51:7)
Devotional
You and I will be reproached for our faith and stand in Christ. We will be criticized for our Biblical morality. We will be called narrow minded, old fashioned, and religious fanatics. That’s all right. It is OK to be narrow minded when you are right. It is great to be old fashioned when the old way is better. I like to define the term “Religious Fanatic” as someone who loves Jesus Christ with all their heart, mind, and soul. Isaiah tells us in the following verse of our text, that those who reproach and insult you will vanish, “But My (God’s) righteousness will be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Hebrews says it this way, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

On September 29th, David said:
These passages always encourage me when hesitation arises from fear of the consequences when standing up for my faith. What a great comfort when the Lord has our back.
