Title

Shocking God

Scripture
And they… burn their sons and daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.
(Jeremiah 7:31)
Devotional
Mankind is capable of sinning to the point of astounding his Creator. Therefore, we must learn to hate sin and fear God, lest we fall into horrid transgressions. All sin is degenerative. It will always take you further than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you are willing to pay. With it you are capable of shocking God. Here is how we succumb to such depths of perversion, “They did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.” (Jeremiah 7:24). If burning our sons and daughters breaks the heart of God, what must He think when they are murdered in their mother’s wombs. Human society has fallen to a worse level. If this makes you feel uncomfortable, just think what it does to God.
