Devotional
Satan continually attempts to thwart the work of the Lord. He is relentless. Here, the Lord sent an angel with a message for Daniel, but Satan was able to delay the angel for twenty-one days. It took the archangel Michael's intercession to get the message to Daniel. God does answer prayer, but the enemy will do his best to foil God’s messenger. We must never forget that we are in a spiritual battle. We do not battle against flesh and blood, but as the scripture says, we battle “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The messenger told Daniel that his words were heard by the Lord. Nevertheless the enemy was able to hinder the time of response. Therefore, keep on praying, keep on calling, and keep on trusting in the Lord; because the battle belongs to the Lord.Daily Reading
