Are We Prostituting Our Daughters?

Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness.(Leviticus 19:29)

How we dress and how we permit our children to dress says a lot about who we are and what we are attempting to accomplish by appearance. Surely we are not so foolish to think that there is no provocative dress? Therefore it is the wise parent that pays close attention to how his or her daughters dress. We live in a very sexually perverse world. Pornography is rampant. What was seen as abhorrent just a few decades ago is the norm today. It is just about impossible to watch any form of entertainment without being exposed to sexual explicitness. Our land is full of wickedness. Sexual perversion is the norm. It is not only accepted, it is protected and encouraged. Therefore when we send our daughters out dressed as how prostitutes once dressed, we feed this perversion and degrade our daughters as harlots. Old fashioned? No. Do you think that the nature of sinful man has changed? It has not; if anything man's sinful nature has continued to deteriorate.Daily Reading
