Title

Why The Dilemma

Scripture
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
(Psalm 33:10)
Devotional
We live in a media driven society. We have instant access to the events and news of the world. As I write this devotion, I am a click of a mouse away from more available information than any time in the history of mankind. Nevertheless, all this information and counsel is meaningless without the knowledge and counsel of the Lord. The so-called civilized world is at war against terrorism. It would seem that there would easily be a united front against such actions. Yet, there is no agreement not only between nations, but also between those who govern those nations. Why? The answer I believe is more than simple. It is found in the twelfth verse of this Psalm, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."[19] If any nation thinks that it can have the blessings of God without acknowledging Him as Lord, that nations is greatly mistaken. For the plans of our nation to have effect, we must once again become one nation under God.
