Title

When My Priorities Fail

Scripture
“You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the Lord…. Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.
(Haggai 1:9)
Devotional
The priorities of God have precedence over the priorities of man. Yet, we so often neglect His priorities because we are so focused on our own. When will we learn that God is more concerned with our well-being than we are? How long does it take before we understand that our Creator is vitally interested in our affairs? His ways are better than ours. His priorities must have precedence. Does our text describe your lifestyle, “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little”? “Why?” Because God is more interested in His kingdom being established in your life than your own kingdom. He knows and understands that His ways are superior to ours. He says, in essence, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (which are your needs) will be added to you.” Put God and His house first, and He will establish you and your house.
