What a wonderful question, "What must I do to be saved?" This one who imprisoned the messengers, now received their message. Some traditions say that this jailor became the pastor of Philippi. I do not know if this is factual or not, but I do know that his life was eternally changed. He had the right question and received the right answer, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved..."[14] This question and answer deserves the highest attention and study. My prayer for you is that you have both asked this question and know this answer. I can remember reading this portion of scripture for the first time. I remember where I was sitting and the impact it made on me. Paul and Silas added these words, "...you, and your household." That night, not only did this Philippian jailor receive salvation, his entire family believed. There is much power in one decision for Christ. For like this jailor, my entire family came to Christ.Daily Reading
