Title

From Rubble to Walls

Scripture
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven
(Ecclesiastes 3:1&5a)
Devotional
There is a time to prepare and there is a time to apply what you have prepared to do. As a garden or a field is to be cleared of its stones, those same stones can be used to build a house. The lesson is manifold: it is a lesson of preparing and working, discarding and salvaging. My in-laws have a summer home in the mountains of West Virginia. I can remember years ago helping prepare the property for building. It seems that we removed stones for years. Every time it rained, more stones would wash to the surface like weeds in a garden. Those stones were a nuisance. Nevertheless, those same troublesome stones eventually became a beautiful wall surrounding the property. Lives, like these stones can be recycled. Maybe you have been cast away or discarded. The Creator of the universe desires to gather you to Himself and make something beautiful of your life. Maybe you know someone that has been likewise cast away, someone who is ready to be gathered for the Lord's use.
