How does the Holy Spirit speak to us? Obviously, He may speak anyway that He sees fit; nevertheless I have found that the Holy Spirit speaks mainly in three realms: Through the written Word of God, the spoken word of God and in our consciences. Two of these three are clearly to be obeyed. We are not to violate our consciences and we are to obey the Word of God. The spoken word, that which is taught and preached is to be measured always by the written Word. If the spoken word violates our consciences, it is then to be measured and weighed by the written Word, the Bible. However, once we hear His voice and know what we have heard is the truth; there is only one thing that remains, obedience to what we have heard. To harden our hearts against it will either cause us to remain in a spiritual wilderness or send us to such a state.Daily Reading
