Title

Mangia

Scripture
Everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
(Hebrews 5:13-14)
Devotional
I can remember as a very young child loving a baby food called Pablum. I can still visualize my mom mixing it with warm milk and saying in Italian, "mangia." Nearly six decades later I can remember that sweat vanilla flavor. Pablum was easy to make, easy to eat and had a pleasant taste. However for me to grow, I had to change my diet. Likewise for us to grow in any realm, especially spiritually, we have to change our diets to a more solid food. Too many believers have remained on a diet of spiritual Pablum. They are seldom if ever eating of the Word of life. If they ate as little as they read, many would not only be malnourished, they would starve to death. The Word of God is solid food; it must be chewed and digested well. Whether it is in the hearing of it or its reading we are to be nourished and grow thereby; "If indeed we have tasted that the Lord is gracious."[9]
