Latent Faith

Scripture
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
(James 2:14)
Devotional
The scriptures clearly teach an "Obedient faith." For us to say that we have faith and do not exercise it is incomprehensible. Faith without works is at best latent. Each of us has been given a measure of faith.[29] However, until that faith is exercised it has nothing but potential power. If latent faith can save us then there is no need for placing that faith in Christ. We are told that without faith it is impossible to please God.[30] Let me ask, does the latent measure of faith the unbeliever has please God? It is clear, obedient faith pleases God
