He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.(Proverbs 24:26)
Devotional
To paraphrase our text, “A right answer is like a kiss from the love of your life.” Life is filled with difficult questions. When those questions are honestly answered, a life is wonderfully changed. The book of Proverbs furthermore says, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Therefore, a feel good answer is not necessarily a right answer. Agreement is not the same as truth. Often- times, a truthful answer may not seem like a kiss on the lips, nevertheless it will prove to be faithful. We are to seek out people who love us enough to tell us the truth. We likewise are to love enough to receive the truth. Do not be duped by the seductive lips of a lying harlot. Seek the faithfulness of a true love. Furthermore, be one who kisses the lips. Be one who gives a right answer.Daily Reading
