Always Look To The Word

Scripture
“Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
(Jeremiah 23:29)

The greatest words of man will diminish. Every great speech and promise, every declaration and parchment will fade with the passing of time. God’s Word, the Bible, will never fade away. Jesus said of His words, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Therefore, the Bible is to be our benchmark with regard to the truth and power of God. All of our standards and precepts are to be based on it. When seeking direction in any realm, it would be wise to first ask, “What does the Bible say?” If the foundation of your belief is based on anything other than the Word of God, you most likely have a shaky foundation. Do you need to make a business decision? Look to the Word. Never be ashamed to make a decision based on the Word of the Lord. Consider the words of the apostle Paul to the church in Rome, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God…”
