Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace...But if not, let it be known...that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the golden image...(Daniel 3:17-18)

Some of my favorite Bible stories are found in the book of Daniel. May I remind you that these are true stories? They are not legends or myths. They are given as examples of faithfulness, righteousness and the power of God. These three Hebrew young men stood firm in their belief in God. They would not bow. They would not bend. How about you? Would you have been able to follow Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego into the fiery furnace? What gave them the courage and faith to do so? The key is found in their opening statement, “Our God whom we serve...” They had been serving the Lord by faith all along. Therefore, when it came to a fiery trial, they were more than able to stand strong. Here is the key: serve the Lord in every realm of your life. Be faithful to Him in the little challenges and you will be faithful in the great challenges. You too can know that God is able to deliver you.
