Title

It Is Not For You

Scripture
It is not for kings... it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes intoxicating drink...
(Proverbs 31:4)
Devotional
We are children of not only a king, but we are children of the King of kings. We are royalty. Peter said that we, “Are a chosen generation a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that [we] may proclaim the praises of Him who called [us] out of darkness into His marvelous light.” Therefore is drinking alcoholic beverages a sin? First of all, let it be according to your faith. Never violate your faith. Secondly the Bible is not clear with regard to fermentation. However, it is very clear with regard to intoxication. Paul clearly stated to the Ephesians, “Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Holy Spirit.” I personally want to avoid anything that would place me in an unnatural state of mind. Anything that would negatively alter my conscience is to be avoided. If you need to drink to enjoy yourself, don’t. It is not for kings nor princes.
