Title

You May Need To Be Pruned

Scripture
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
(Matthew 12:33)
Devotional
No matter how good we may look, talk or act, we can only truly be known by the fruit we bear. Therefore, we are to reveal ourselves as we truly are. Sooner or later our blossoms will bud and our fruit will be exposed. Why not allow our true leaves to show? Why not let others know what kind of fruit we really bear. If we do, we may find some true friends who love us enough to prune us and prepare us to bear fruit worthy of the master’s table. If you are a bad tree, you will bear bad fruit. Once the fruit is born, it is too late to change the tree. It most likely will be cut down and thrown into the fire. Do not be afraid to show who you really are. Let those who can help you see your true nature. Be willing to be pruned. Be willing to be cut back. Be willing to be humbled that you may be a good tree ready to bear good fruit.
