The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.(Psalm 34:18)
Devotional
When life really hurts and your heart is broken, if you look very closely, you will see the Lord strengthening you. Furthermore when life hurts because of our own doing and we have a repentant heart, again you will see the Lord right there with you. How foolish of us to turn away from the Lord when life’s trials and troubles come our way. We act as if they were God’s doings. In reality, the greatest majority of our problems are self-imposed. We do it wrong and expect right to be the result. When our lives do not turn out, as we would have them to, we see ourselves as suffering unjustly. Even here, the Lord is near those who have a broken heart, and He is especially near those who have a repentant spirit. Are you hurting? Are you injuries self-inflicted? God is there for you. Turn to Him with a contrite heart. God will heal your broken heart if you give Him all the pieces.Daily Reading
