Title

The Christ of Calvary

Scripture
So when the centurion…saw…he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God.”
(Mark 15:39)
Devotional
Christ was still on the cross and there were already at least two professions of faith in Him. The first being the thief crucified with Him and here the second being the Roman centurion. Here is the power of Calvary. It is the turning point of eternity’s history. Life and time would never be the same again. Calvary’s impact cannot be ignored. It will not allow neutrality. It will not be romanticized nor will it be trivialized. Calvary demands a choice, acceptance or rejection. There is no other option. One officer proclaimed, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” In essence, the centurion here proclaimed, “No man ever died like this Man!” The questions we must ask are, “What will I do with His words and what will I do with His death?” Some will dare reject His words, but none dare ignore Calvary. Have you been there? Have you been to Calvary? I am not talking about visiting the Holy Land; I am speaking of the finished work of the cross. Do you truly know the Christ of Calvary?
