I recently had a young girl say to me after a message on the authority of God, “Who does God think He is, telling us what is right and what is wrong?” This of course sounds like a ridiculous statement until you think about the adolescent innocence by which it was spoken. The girl in her youthful ignorance was just expressing the attitude and understanding of her heart. The only difference between her and most adults is that she at least spoke the truth of her mind. We may not openly challenge God’s authority like this teenager, but we do the same when we choose our will over the will of the Lord. You may not be like this child and verbally reject the omniscience of God, but do you silently, and rebelliously, do the same? We may either speak or think, what gives God the right to tell us what is right and wrong? “The Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.”Daily Reading
