Marriage is for Life

Scripture
The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband.’”
(John 4:17)
Devotional
The Lord God puts great stock in the institution of marriage. He proved that when He place Eve in the garden to be Adam’s wife; and when Christ performed His first miracle at the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee. Here Jesus confirms that just because a man and a woman come together sexually does not qualify as marriage. God has always intended for a man and a woman to inter into the marriage covenant for life. Jesus said, that, “From the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” There is no room for adultery or fornication among God’s people. There is only room for marriage; and God intends it to be for life. Do your best to marry once or make the one you are in last for life.
