Title

A Higher Plain

Scripture
Andrew and Philip told Jesus. But Jesus answered them saying…
(John 12:22-23)
Devotional
Throughout the gospels, whenever Jesus was asked a certain question or informed of a certain event, He would more than often answer in a seemingly irrelevant manner. The truth is that the questions and events were irrelevant, and Jesus was more than relevant. Godly leadership is to be on a higher plain. It will inevitably have a different view. The disciples saw only that which was at hand. Jesus saw the journey. This is the responsibility of those who lead. Leaders must see differently than those who follow. Leadership must be on a higher plain. Nevertheless, the purpose is not to elevate self, but to elevate those who are being led. Jesus was not mystical for the sake of mysticism. He simple saw things from His Father’s perspective. If you are to lead, you must see from higher plain; you must answer with eternal spiritual relevance instead of temporal available irrelevance.
