Devotional
God is more interested with who we are than with what we do. I have often known Christians who work for the Lord like they are attempting to work their way to heaven. They spend countless hours “working their ministry.” They not only give their time, but the time of others as well. They are willing to cheat their employee or even their families for the “work of the ministry.” They do all kinds of services for God. ?However, the problem is that God has not called them to that service. They are simply making a sacrifice to God. Unfortunately, it is an unacceptable sacrifice. The scriptures are clear, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,” It is not what we can do for God; it is what would God have me to do? Remember, God is more interested in our being than our doing.Daily Reading
