Presentation

Scripture
Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace.
(Esther 5:1)
Devotional
Esther in her wisdom recognized the power and significance of presentation. She was sorrowful of heart, but made herself beautify in appearance. She was about to appeal to the king. Therefore she waited until the proper time, “The third day.” She put on her royal robes, and I am sure she had never looked better. Therefore she found favor and her appeal was more than granted. Whether it is a job interview or a dinner engagement, there is to be a proper protocol of attire and appearance. Likewise in marriage: I am always amazed how well dressed and good-looking people become after a divorce. It is astonishing how inappropriate we are toward those who should matter the most. Let us learn a lesson from Queen Esther. Packaging is as important as content. If the content is not appealing it will not be bought. Esther demonstrated the art of the appeal by making herself appealing.

Wow, how true. I often don't give the one's most important to me my best. A great reminder.
