Title

Life Does Not Take God By Surprise

Scripture
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
(Romans 8:28)
Devotional
I do not know about you, but I have at times had my doubts that “All” things work together for good. There are things in my life that I do not understand, various hurts and disappointments. Maybe you have been there, maybe you are there now. There is no way that you can see the events of your life working for good. Here is what we can know for sure, God is in control, total control. Nothing takes Him by surprise. He is not up in heaven wondering, “What went wrong, what happened?” Let me ask. Do you love God? Do you belong to Him? If you answer yes, then you are called according to His purpose. No matter how difficult your situation, God is in control. He knows and you can trust Him. I am not saying that the hard things of life will be easy to understand and accept, but I am saying God is trustworthy. He will work all things together for our good and His glory.

On August 6th, David said:
If I look back, most of the time I can see things come for a purpose that was beyond what I had prayed for or tried to achieve. God seems to always bless more than what is asked for, yet in ways I could not have guessed during the process. Yet...I still find myself at times wondering what He's doing with me in the present when it's difficult. It's during these times that I have to remember to put my head down in prayer and persevere...knowing He will always work the situation for something good. Great devotional and reminder of this.
