Devotional
Of life’s goals, here is one of the noblest. Who on this earth can we give greater joy and godly pride than our parents? What greater way is there to honor them than to cause them to rejoice over their children? This we do when we seek their counsel and listen to their guidance. We honor our parents by openly showing them respect and favor. We honor our parents by being good parents ourselves, and by working hard at our marriages. We honor our parents by making sure that our children honor them. We honor them by regularly calling and visiting them. Let us honor them in our greetings. Let us honor them with gifts and recognition. Let us honor them personally as well as publicly. Rise in their presence. Speak to them kindly and listen intently. Let them be glad that they are your parents. Let her who bore you rejoice.Daily Reading
