Title

Keep God On The Job

Scripture
Thus says the Lord: “Behold, what I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up…”
(Jeremiah 45:4)
Devotional
Just because the Lord was in an endeavor does not mean that He will always continue in that endeavor. God is steadfast, immovable, always abounding in His work. He will bless His work and He will bless ours as long as the two are one and the same. If we depart from His work, He remains faithful.  Therefore, if we deviate from that which He planted and built, He has no choice but to break down and pluck up the work of our hands. It is for this reason that the end of a thing is better than its beginning. It is one thing to have the presence of the Lord at birth; it is quite another to have Him present at death. The first leads to the temporal and the latter leads to the eternal. Therefore, let us plant and continue to build on the things of God. Let us forsake that which God has forsaken and embrace that which God has embraced.
