Title

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Scripture
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.
(Psalm 122:1)
Devotional
Jerusalem, the City of David, is by far the most significant city in the world. Whenever a disruption occurs in this comparatively small city, the world pays close attention, stock markets take notice and governments go on alert. Jerusalem is called the city of the prophets, the city of the covenant and the name of the eternal city, the New Jerusalem. God gives clear instruction with regard to her. That instruction is to pray for her. To pray for Jerusalem is to pray for God’s chosen people, the Jews and for His children, Christians. To pray for her is to pray for the world and God’s will to be done. Be slow to judge her. Hold her in high regard. For God regards Jerusalem and He will judge her. Be careful not to take sides against her.  Instead, reverence the city Jesus wept over. Pray, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And may you prosper for doing so.
