It seems that we often look just about everyplace except the right place for answers to life’s difficult problems. We look to the local convenient store for lottery riches. We look to dreams without vision for happiness. And we look to stimulants to feel better about ourselves. None of these work. None bring happiness and none permanently satisfy. We are simply looking to the wrong places. Jesus said, “Look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” We need look no further than Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith. Let us stop looking for life’s joys and fulfillment in the things of this world. Let us look to the true source, the Creator of life. The next time you find yourself in need, look no further than heaven. Lift up your eyes; call to the Lord. He will hear you and answer you “And show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”Daily Reading
