Put Life into Those Bones

Scripture

Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’”
(Ezekiel 37:4)

Devotional

Have you ever known people like Ezekiel’s dry bones? They have no life, no hope and no future. Their lives are little more than an existence of passing days. Days come and days go and life remains a mundane routine of mediocrity. Maybe this characterizes your life. Let me say to you, “O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!” There is a great life waiting for us all. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” The Word of God is full of promises just for you. We have to hear it and do so with an ear of obedience. The Word of God can take the driest of lives and make them live. God can make the mundane sublime, the hopeless hopeful and poor rich. Ezekiel basically said dry bones, get a life. And that life is in the Word of the Lord! Hear it, obey it and live it. Put life into those bones.
