Devotional
People are fickle and life is fragile. All that we know and all that we have is frail and subject to the judgments of God. Therefore, let us hold on to the things of this world with an open hand. Let us enjoy the blessings of prosperity, but let us, likewise, not base our joy on the same. When God causes us to prosper, we are to make sure that we realize the source of that prosperity. Proverbs says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” Wealth is a blessing of the Lord. However, if those same riches become a snare to their possessor, God, in an instant, can take them away. Hold on to the things of God with a tight fist and the things of this world loosely. For in one hour such great riches can come to nothing.Daily Reading
