Count To Ten

Scripture
A fool's wrath is known at once, but a prudent man covers shame.
(Proverbs 12:16)
Devotional
I love the old adage, "It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt." Proverbs 29:11 says it this way, "A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back."[12] A fool's wrath comes from an uncontrolled emotion. They speak from feeling instead of wisdom or understanding. They wear their emotions of their proverbial sleeve, thus exposing their shame. A prudent man may feel the same as the fool; the difference being however is that the prudent man holds his tongue, thus covering his shame. Often the only difference between the two is that one speaks when he or she shouldn't and the others only speak when he or she should. Therefore, count to ten, wait a day or what ever it takes before you respond with your emotions instead of your understanding and hide your shame.
