Give In Truth

Scripture
The king who judges the poor with truth, his throne will be established forever.
(Proverbs 29:14)
Devotional
How do are we to deal with the poor in truth? As a leader, whether of business, the home or any organization, there will have to be judgments made. How are we to judge the poor with truth? The answer is not a difficult as our society has made it. The answer is simply, "With honesty." Honesty will let the poor know why they are poor and show them how to get out of their poverty. Feeding the poor for example without helping them out of their poverty, is feeding their poverty. Yes we are to give to the poor. Yes we are to feed, cloth and give them coverage, but to do so without helping them feed, cloth and house themselves is cruel and unwise. Sadly, our society has not dealt with the poor in truth. We have imprisoned them in their poverty, making it very difficult to escape it. The Bible is clear, we are to be generous in our giving; nevertheless we are to do so in truth.
