Title

The Church at Philadelphia

Scripture
"I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name."
(Revelation 3:8)
Devotional
This church of brotherly love was by no means significant or influential in its community. Nevertheless there was one thing that it had that distinguished it from the more prominent of the seven churches, it was a church that unconditionally held on to its first love and walked in obedience to what it knew. They kept the Word of the Lord. God therefore promised them that they would win the lost and that they would be delivered from persecution. The lesson is clear to churches in every age: Let us by all means boldly proclaim the name of the Lord and keep His commandments. Let us focus on Him by worshipping and praising Him with all our strength and with all our might. Let us not be ashamed of the gospel for it is obviously the power of God.[17] "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."[18]
