Title

Reminisce a Little, Dream a Lot

Scripture
Abraham said to him, “Beware that you do not take my son back there.”
(Genesis 24:6)
Devotional
When we live in the past and only count days gone by as good, we miss life’s blessings. If the only good days were the old days, you need a closer relationship with Christ. If all we do is talk about the place where we used to live, the job we used to have, or the church we once attended, we are a hindrance to those around us. This is why Abraham in his wisdom instructed his servant, “Beware that you do not take my son back there.” Abraham understood that the promises of God are for now and the future, not for the past. God promised Abraham a country, not a history. Therefore, expand the horizons of your life and the lives of those you love. Forget those things which are behind, even the good things, and press on for those things which are ahead, the things God has promised to those who believe. When you speak to your children, reminisce a little and dream a lot. Keep them looking ahead.

On January 12th, Dale said:
I confess that I am guilty of living in the glory days. I need to dream more especially with my children. They know the Lord, so they know where they are going, but I know that I often paint a dismal picture of the future of our country. The truth is, I do not know. The Lord might stir up a great revival in this country. Our best days as a country could still be ahead of us.

Excellent devo!
Thanks for the encouragement!
