Title

Less Psychobabble and More Holy Bible

Scripture
He who mistreats his father and...mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
(Proverbs 19:26)
Devotional
I have little use for a disrespectful child, no matter what age; and I have a hard time with parents who permit it. We live in a society that instructs parents to understand their children. This may sound a little old-fashioned, but that never occurred to my parents. They were much more concerned with my brothers and I understanding them. When we began to deviate from the biblical training of our children, we began to seek reasons and excuses for our failures as parents. Today we have disorders instead of disobedience, slowness instead of laziness. We want a reason for the behavior of our children instead of responsibility. Therefore instead of rearing them, we give them Ritalin. There are illnesses and diseases, and these must be treated properly, but not replaced with godly discipline. What we need for the training and instructing of our children is less psychobabble and more Holy Bible.
