Title

Fear God First

Scripture
Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure with trouble.
(Proverbs 15:16)
Devotional
There are those who unwittingly exchange eternity for the temporal pleasers of life. They often in ignorance assume that you cannot have both. However, if there is only a choice between having a little with Christ or an abundance without Him, the latter is the far greater choice. Nevertheless, why not both? Why not reverence the Lord, follow and heed His commands with prosperity instead of poverty? This we can do if we truly place Him first in all our doings. 2 Chronicles 26:3-5 tells us for example, "Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and… as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.”[1] If we fear Him we will seek Him and if we seek Him we will find Him. And when we find Him there will be no limits to what He can accomplish in our lives. Remember Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”[2]
