Devotional
We may look to the hills or the stars; we can look to man or science. We can look wherever we may, but ultimately our help will come from the Lord. From whence comes your help? Where are you looking for guidance? To whom do you turn when trouble comes your way? The wise man or woman will first and foremost turn to the Lord in prayer. Unfortunately we are not always like the wise man or woman. If a headache comes our way we first turn to the medicine cabinet. If financial troubles plague us, we turn to various people or institutions. These are not necessarily evil or wrong. They indeed may be the solutions to which God would have us turn, but the first place we are to turn is to the lord. Let us therefore turn to Him in prayer; let us turn to Him through His Word and let us turn to Him by way of godly counsel. May we say with the psalmist, "My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth."[6]Daily Reading
